Ranch Horse Challenge
The purpose of the Arabian Working Western Alliance (AWWA) Ranch Horse Challenge is to create a sense of community and comradery in the Arabian Horse industry by providing opportunities and incentives for the breeding, showing, and owning of traditional Western performance Arabian-bred horses.
The AWWA Ranch Horse Challenge is unique in structure by providing multiple ways to compete within one larger class. There are two divisions: one for purebred Arabians and the other for Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabians. Within each division are multiple categories: Open, Amateur, Incentive Fund Futurity, and Incentive Fund Maturity AOTR.
Open: All horses of any age are entered into the Ranch Horse Challenge
Amateur: Horses in the Ranch Horse Challenge ridden by an Amateur are eligible for additional awards based on their score from the larger class. A full Top 10 is awarded.
Incentive Fund Futurity: 4-year-old horses nominated in-utero to the AWWA Incentive Fund are eligible to compete for prize money and awards set aside specifically for them. The Incentive Fund Futurity runs concurrent with the AWWA Ranch Horse Challenge.
Incentive Fund Maturity AOTR: AWWA Incentive Fund nominated horses ages 5 & over, ridden by an Amateur, are eligible for additional awards & payback based on their score from the larger class.
To enter the AWWA Ranch Horse Challenge you must complete the AHA entry form and the AWWA entry form. Exhibitors are automatically placed into each of the categories for which they meet the criteria.
